... Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) wrote We may see a few fixes for OE6 in the future (but nothing dramatic, I assure you) Could you please explain the role / status of MS MVPs? I thought they were not part of (employed by) MS in which case your assurance has no foundation. I have also seen statements like "don't ask me I'm not part of MS". These two don't sit comfortably together and obviously I'm not clear on the matter. Thanks. Bill Ridgeway Computer Solutions When an MVP states something about what Microsoft will or will not do, we generally have it from a better source than the Press. They get their information from Public Relations or vice presidents. We get it from the people doing the work. In a meeting at Redmond we told the OE team that something had to be done about people losing their message store. The result was this optional update for WinXP SP2: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en This will be included in a future comprehensive update. One of the things it does is to copy all of the DBX files to Recycled as BAK files, so that the messages are recoverable. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup.
