Mystery solved! Thank you Robert!! I immediately stopped my popup blocker
temporarily and...the new thread OPENED! So sorry I forgot to show my data probably because I'm upset for having "hijacked" someone. Here it is: winXP Pro; OE 6.0; IE 6.0; Dell Dimension XPS T450MHz Pentium III; Norton AV; Google toolbar...when it doesn't disappear! (Don't need XPpro, last techi installed & charged accordingly) NOTE: I copied below your last msg (wonder why the system didn't do it? I came to THIS forum because my servers said it's Outlook Express' fault after they tested ok the cable modem, email properties, etc., and I couldn't find any especially OE forum. MY ORIGINAL PROBLEM: At least one of my 3 identities hasn't been sending out msgs at all with or without attachments for the last 2 months! They stay forever in the outbox. I've been at forums and tried just about EVERYTHING! I get this error msg: The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was @cs.com'. Subject 'Fw: BRAVO JILL ROBINSON for GREAT SYMPOSIUM to HELP CHINESE CATS/DOGS!!!!!!!!!', Account: 'pop.rcn.com', Server: 'smtp.rcn.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '452 #4.5.3 Too many recipients.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 452, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 It says "452 too many" but my biggest emailing is of only 230 recipients. I split this amount but I got same error. The first part of the msg doesn't apply. The earlier error msgs 0x800CCC79 included this "should be up to 400" or something to that effect, which means they allowed up to 400, yet my 230 or even half of it didn't get sent out either. Seems they've changed it!!! I'm very puzzled and no one is taking responsibility It's impossible to contact direclty Microsoft. I apologize again for the hijacking, and thanks ever so much for any suggestions to this complicated problem! Adela I COPIED YOUR MSG HE Yes. On the "MS Communities web interface to Newsgroups" E.g. on the web page that you are still using to send replies with. ; ) If you ever want to start your own discussion, instead of hijacking someone else's thread, using that site, click on New [Start a new thread], and wait for a small dropdown menu to appear there. That's what it looks like but it's really implemented by a tiny popup window. Hence, if you have popup blockers active you may only be able to see that menu if you make sure that the popup blockers allow it. And please explain this too: "Alternatively modify the popup blocker to allow popups from that site." Do you mean to enable again the popup function (if I had it and had it disabled)? Are you saying you still don't see the New button's menu after disabling *all* your popup blockers? Did you try using Ctrl- Click (e.g. with IE6sp2) or Ctrl+Alt- (with IE7) just in case it is still active? Hmm... I just tried changing IE7's popup blocker to High level and found that the New menu *still* appears, so perhaps that isn't the implementation after all. BTW I just noticed that you haven't disclosed *any* information about either your OS or your browser so I may be wasting my time guessing about this. E.g. if you're not using IE as your browser when posting or you're not allowing Scripting and ActiveX controls you would also have difficulty using the site. -- The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. Most ISPs limit the number of recipients of one (1) message to 50, 25 or

Thank you Pa Bear for explaining...howdo groups and corporations manage to
send out theirlists of thousands each??? Is there any other email program that would accept the so-called mass mailing (I don't consider 230 a mass mailing!). Someone told me that Yahoo does but the person didn't give me the details. Please do let me know if there's a way, any way to send them at one time? If I follow my server's rules...I'll have to put in double and more time each time I want to send, because, even at a 100 per hour, I'll have to be glued to the computer to do it. Companies and groups either operate their own servers or make arrangements
with ISPs who will allow them unlimitied sending. The email client has nothing to do with this. It's entirely controlled by the server. If you have a legitimate need to send messages to many recipients, you may be able to make special arrangements with your ISP. There are programs that will automatically send many messages to a single recipient each instead of one message to many recipients, but many ISPs forbid their use and will cancel your account if you do so because these programs are very effective spamming tools. You'll need to go into your Outbox folder and delete any messages with
too many recipients. As long as the messages are there, OE will try to send them which can prevent any other messages from sending. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Adela" wrote in message ... Thanks Michael for explaining. Now I know what to do, but instead of
deleting them, will I get the same result by moving them into a folder? I put in a lot of work into those messages. I complained before that I could never catch up with all my computer work....well, now I'll either have to put on my monk's habit and resign to an ant's pace OR...shoot myself! LOL! BTW, anyone knows how to get rid of my signature here? It's too small quarters for the luxury of a signature....Thank you again! -- The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. You could move the messages if you want to do that.
Or you can double click a message in Outbox and edit down the TO list to what your ISP will allow and then send that. The issue is that whenever you do a send, OE tries to send whatever is still in the Outbox. And if the server rejects the message, OE leaves the message there and tries to send it again next time. So you either need to fix the message to something the server will accept or get it out of the Outbox. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Adela" wrote in message ...
