I believe someone could write a thesis on the topic of a question that
has already been asked hundreds of times in a newsgroup. People tend to ask the same question over and over without first consulting the newsgroup to see if their question has already been asked and answered. Yet we know that after a certain amount of time, the question will stop being asked. How does the group collectively decide to stop asking the question? What is the process by which a large and disparate group of people somehow arrive at same conclusion? Clearly they are finding the answer to the question otherwise...where? and what triggers this process? --- Ted Zieglar "Backup is a computer user's best friend." I have no other problems. Do you know what I need to do? |
