I opened up an email with a word ducument. I proceeded to type for 2 hours
into the word document. When I was done I X out and hit yes to save. When I open the e-mail back up what I typed for 2 hours is gone. Is there anyway to retrieve what I typed in? Please help me I do not want to have to type again!! |

It's somewhere on your hard drive. Try My Documents for starters or search for the file. Alias |

Hi Tony,
You might try duplicating the same procedure, open up the email with word document, type a few words, X out and hit yes to save. Does it provide info as to where it will be saved? Does it ask to overwrite a existing file? If the latter is true, then suspect your lost file is somewhere on your hard drive. You have learned an expensive lesson.
If you want to alter an attachment, save the attachment to the hard drive and alter the saved attachment. You should save your document as you work. OE puts opened attachments in Temporary Internet Files. -- Ronald Sommer "Tony" wrote in message ... :I opened up an email with a word ducument.
