One of my account users did not require a password to collect messages but
when outlook express is started a login requirement opens for a password. As
no password was entered none is entered in the box but you are then unable
to login for you messages.
How can this be corrected?

What changes have been made between the last time your account holder
successfully collected messages without having to provide a password and the
first time your account holder unsuccessfully collected messages because a
password was required?

I really don't think there have been.
I set up the new account for my wife from scratch.
She tried to open it and the problem appeared.

Have you entered a space in the password when setting up the account? There
is nothing for you to see but it is significant to the computer. This may
not be the answer but it may be worth checking just in case and it wouldn't
be the first time the whole thing has ground to a halt because of a space.

Hi Bill

I did think of that myself but though it could have been any accidental key.
I tried a few but no help.
I decided to be radical and as it was a new account I deleted the original
and created a new one, seemed to work OK after doing this. Imported the
address book and downloaded messages via my ISP.

Many thanks for your interest and help in tring to resolve my problem.

I've never heard of an email account that did not require a password. Or
are you asking about an OE identity or a Windows User?
