Default OE will not launch

I have both OE and Outlook on my computer, but use OE as default (Windows
XP). Yesterday I uninstalled Outlook to create some disk space, since I
never use Outlook. Now OE will not launch. I get a message asking if I want
to send an error report to MS. I've tried re-installing Outlook from the
disk, uninstalling and re-installing OE, system restore and Norton Go Back.
Nothing works. How can I get my OE back? Have fortunately saved my
profiles, email and address book to folders on my desktop.

Go here for a start:
When OE crashes or won't start.
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/probl...rors.htm#crash

Ensure that OE /is/ set as the default mail program.
http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx

Disable email scanning in any AV or anti spam programs.

Default OE will not launch

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and #7. Try deleting folders.dbx (hidden)
and see if it will open then.
