Default Name.wab~ file

How can I import my old wab file which is still in the folder (C:\Documents
and Settings\name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book) but doesn't show
up in the import other address book box?
I don't know how to open it or how tp change the file into a text file
(Comma Separated Values) or IF - LDAP Data Interchange Format in order to
import it.

If it is a .wab file you don't need to use "other..."
Just use the Address book choice.
If you can find it by search or Windows explorer put a copy of it on your desktop, where can find it when you import.
I was/is an OE address book, right?

You usually need to go through all those other choices, if the file was in Outlook or another email client.

Change the file properties by unchecking "read only"
Right click the file name choose properties
Under the General tab uncheck "read only"

The ~ is a backup file automatically made by OE. You need to rename the
file removing the ~ so that the file extension is simply .WAB. Then it
will be usable as an address book.
