I had 3 subfolders under my local folders in outlook express 06. I have not
deleted them but was having some trouble getting my connection to the Internet while trying to send and receive mail using outlook. Just wondering are they lost forever or just hiding? |

Are we to guess what sub-folders you're talking about? Or what exactly
happened to them? Or even what version of Windows you have? Keep in mind that Outlook Express and Outlook are two entirely different programs. This newsgroup accepts questions on Outlook Express. --- Ted Zieglar "Backup is a computer user's best friend." I did state in was outlook express 06 and a subfolder to me is easily
understood. And folders are right on the left side of the screen, a sub folder would be under the local folders. One day the folders where there and the next they were gone. And as far as the internet I have windows XP. Anyone else out there who can help? |

See here for message recovery techniques: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4
You can see if the dbx files for the absent folders are there or not. If they are not there, then my DBXpress program will analyze the entire hard drive and might be able to recover some of the messages. For the future see points 2 and 3 on that page as well. steve "Debbie Rosenquist" wrote in message ... I had 3 subfolders under my local folders in outlook express 06. You're still keeping the Windows version and the complete OE version a secret. In OE go to Tools | Options | Maintenance an write down where the OE data store is kept. Go there in Windows Explorer. With Win2K, WinXP and Win2K3 you will have to set Windows explorer to show hidden files and folders. Are the DBX files for those folders there? -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. Don't send mail. |
