Default Outlook Express and IMAP?

When I delete a message out of my inbox, it just gets a red X and a
line through it. When I close out, wait a few minutes and come back
in, its still there.
How can I have it so when I delete a message it goes to the trash
folder?

See the setting in Tools, Options, Maintenance regarding Purging IMAP
messages.

won't tha tjust delete them instead of moving them into the trash
folder?

Yes, that is exactly what happened. Now they go into obivion when I
exit outlook.

That's the only option that you have with OE.and IMAP.
