I want to send a 'soft' fax. Can I do it from Outlook or can anyone recommend a freeware program.

If you want to send faxes over the Internet (instead of using a fax modem on a telephone line), you'll have to pay someone for that service. Also, if you are going to make up your own terms ('soft' fax) then define them.

Hi killjoy,
If you have Win XP open Windows Help and search for "fax." Fax services are not installed by default. To send using a telephone line you'll need a dial-up modem. I know nothing about sending from Outlook or Outlook Express. However, fax can be thought of as a remote printer.
