I have a new computer. I have a ton of e-mails on my old computer that I want
to transfer. All the other stuff I want to transfer I am saving to an external hard drive from the old computer and will then download to the new computer. Does anybody know how to do this with e-mails? I cant use the 'export' provided in outlook express becasue it will only export to other programs on the same computer. I guess another way to put this is 'where are e-mails saved?' I could then just download them to the hard drive. Thanks for your help. -- If its worth doing, its worth over-doing! |

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of
your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then Start | Run | Ctrl+V will put the location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer. In WindowsXP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View. Move the files to a new folder on the new computer. Open OE, File, Import, File| Import| Messages| OE6| Message store directory, then browse to the new folder. -- Ron Sommer "Mike" wrote in message ... :I have a new computer.
