I've noticed something that's puzzling me that just seems to occur on the
Microsoft news server (as opposed to my regular RCN Usenet server where this doesn't occur. The numbers in brackets that accompany the name of the newsgroup on the OE bar that show the number of unread messages on the group;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; on the RCN server, when opening the group to view the headers, the numbers always increase but on the Microsoft server, these numbers both increase AND decrease when the group is clicked to view and the headers change. Is there something that's different between the two servers or are my news settings perhaps different somehow by default? I'm just wondering how the unread message numbers on the Microsoft server can both increase and decrease where the RCN always increases. Puzzling?????? I know the answer is going to come back on this and be something completely obvious that I missed checking out before I posted the question :-)))) Thanks Dudley |
