Default Error when closing OE6.

I get an error message every time I close OE. The Message says
(translated from Danish):

-----------------------------------------------
msimn.exe - Program error

The instruction at "0x02a06032" referred memory at "0x02b22ee8". The
memory could not "read".

Click OK to close the program
-----------------------------------------------

The error is a pretty new - I guess it showed up for the first time
after the latest Microsoft Update earlier this month.

Win XP Home SP2.
OE 6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158).

It's probably a malware infection.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

Hello Frank.

Thanks for your answer.

I don't think it is malware. I have checked for malware, spyware, and
virus. I have a router with NAT and software firewall on my PC. I have
not visited suspicious web sites or opened suspicious mails.

I found out that when I open OE, let OE check for mail or check for news
messages or do nothing, and then close OE again - then I don't get the
error message.

If I open a mail, a news group message or even a 'new message'-window in
OE - then I get the error message after closing OE. The 2 hex addresses
in the error messages differ from time to time.

Any idea?
