Before my hard drive crashed, I had exported the address book. Then, after
restoring my system, I imported the address book. I was rather surprised to see that the restored address book included countless addresses which had been deleted, some years ago. Why does that file contain this old, deleted info? And, even if MS programmers didn't want to bother actually deleting the info when you say you want to delete it- instead, just hiding that info, when you export it, I should think the programmers could have written the exported file without that deleted info.
