Hi PA Bear:
As far as I know I am the only recipient erroneously receiving copies of email sent from dad to son. When I open the email and hit Cntrl+F3 for Message Source Data my email address is listed up in what looks like server sent and received data; however, on further down it indicates sent from dad to son without my address being listed. I don't know if this additional info is of any help to you..... I have not had any other quirks so to speak with my OE that I know about. Thanks "PA Bear" wrote in message ... Very strange. While it sounds like Dad's machine may be the culprit (think: hijackware or Trojan infection), see if this behavior persists in a new Named Identity, Tom. Also disable any email scanning by your anti-virus application and any anti-spam applications. canned Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity (File Identities Add new identity). Assuming all is well, (1) compact all folders in the old identity, (2) import messages from the old identity into the new one, and then (3) delete the old one (File Identities Manage Identities). /canned -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) ColTom2 wrote: Hi: I am receiving confirmation of an email sent by a cousin to his dad. The strange thing is how can I receive an email confirmation when I was not an addressee? All three of us have different ISP's. My cousin has his email settings to receive confirmation of receipts, but again how can I be receiving a confirmation when he sends his dad an email and his dad opens it? In addition, all emails that his dad sends him I get a copy even though I am not an addressee. This is mind boggling and I sure hope someone can tell me what needs to be accomplished to prevent this from happening. Thanks |
