General OE Caveats:
- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local folders created for this purpose. - Empty Deleted Items folder daily. - Disable Background Compacting [not available in SP2] and frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm - WinXP SP2 only: Do not shut down your machine while Windows is automatically compacting your message store. - Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) fshelledy wrote: Just switched to a newer laptop. Set up OE that I have used for many years. Clicking on Tools/Options/Send, the box for 'Save copies of sent items in the 'Sent Items' folder' is checked. However none of my sent items are being saved there. Please advise how I can correct this problem. Thank you. Frank |

I followed the instructions of Bruce Hagen with perfect results.
Apparently the existence of an imported 'sent items' folder prevents the saving of new sent items in that folder. A few other responders were close to this solution. Thanks to all for your suggestions. Frank On Jan 6, 10:32 pm, "fshelledy" wrote: Just switched to a newer laptop. Set up OE that I have used for many years.
