I have followed directions to use O.E. for my newsgroups several times yet
with the directons and help from friends, I still have to 'search' for
replies that come to my hotmail address. It appears easier to just type my
name in my options in order to find a reply to a post. Set up properly, do
you still have to search for a reply or by clicking on the notification link
does that direct you right to the reply? Does it appear in O.E. or in hotmail?
Thank you

Hardly anyone will reply to you directly. You must check the newsgroup for
replies.

While in a newsgroup, View | Current View. Check Show all messages and Group
messages by conversation.

In Tools | Option | Read, Uncheck: Get xxx headers at a time.

And posting your real address is an invitation for spam. Change it to
something like: lid

I replied via the web b/c I was having issues with msox. I had tried posting
several times with o.x. If you read the posts i this thread you will see why
I am confused. There are what seem to be apparent contradictions or multiple
ways of using ox to acces notifications. Please read thru them.

Well, I'm just as confused as from your OP, you seemed to expect replies to
be e-mailed to your address. If you are trying to find your message using OE
as your newsreader, click: View | Current View | Show replies to my
messages, or simply Ctrl+H.
