Default OE6 malfunctions

There is a difference between having a computer in front of oneself locally
to work on and another that is somewhere in world and the user only said
what you said.

One cannot divine the nature of the problem from the few short words you
used to describe it, which is why Michael asked all the questions that you
never answered.

Thanks. However, a local technician just read my problem description and
fixed it for me. I'm sorry if I offended you.

We can't help you until we understand the problem. Your original
description is too vague, much like saying my car won't run on Tuesdays.

Off hand, there's no reason using any online program should prevent OE
from starting. So we need more information to determine what's really
going on.

One reply to my post from Steve Cochran and one reply from Michael
Santovec. Neither of them with any help at all. With two replies
already, I will unlikely get any real honest help. Why does this happen
in this newsgroup?

By the online Bible do you mean a web site accessed via Internet
Explorer (IE)? Or are you running some software to access the bible?

How do you close the online bible? Do you close IE or something else?

Do you have any problems using IE after closing the bible?

Do you get any error message when you try to open Outlook Express (OE)?

If you open OE before closing the online Bible, does it work OK?

I use WinXP with OE6.

Lately, after I use a Bible online, and close it, Outlook Express will
not open. When I restart my computer, OE will open. What can I do to
remedy this irregular behavior?

I wasn't offended.

Can you tell us what your local technician did to fix the problem so
that we can pass it on to others if they have the same problem?

I'm amazed that your local technician could fix the problem from merely
reading the brief description that you posted here. It's not nearly
enough information for me to even hazard a guess as to what was going
on.

Default OE6 malfunctions

Hi Michael,

The technician read my problem and said I likely had a damaged file.
Further, that if I reinstalled OE6, my problem would probably be solved. I
did and it is still working fine. Thanks for caring.

A damaged data file will often cause problems with OE opening. But the
problem should be consistent and not related to use of any other online
program. Either OE will never open or it will crash when you access the
damaged file.
