Thanks Bruce

Still hoping to recover my "free" version.

Unfortunately by the time you pay for currency conversion and outrageous fees Australian Banks charge on O/s transactions even a modest price becomes very expensive.

Do you know if MS intend including a yenc converter with the next OE release?

There will be no "next OE release": OE's being replaced with something
called "WinMail" in Vista. And no, MS won't give that yEnc capability
either. At least not until a proper yEnc standard has been published anyhow.

By the way, if you're into serious downloading of multipart binaries from
Usenet, OE (and presumably its successor WinMail) is not really the best
choice. What you need is a yEnc-savvy newsreader. Xnews
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xnews) is pretty good and you can’t beat the
price...
