Another silly question -- I use rules extensively, have a large rules file.
I've noticed for some time now, that I get random emails that should go into specific folders do not follow the rules, but end up in different folders. There's no pattern to this, but I get one or two every day that end up in the wrong folder. Most are established newsletters IE - there's no change in the addressing of the mail. They just end up in the wrong folder. Is there a way to back up the rules file yet? thanks howard |

The rules are stored in the registry. If you backup the Identities key,
then you will also backup the rules. See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx I suspect there might be a condition that some of the messages meet that sends them to the wrong folders rather than a corruption of the rules, but if you find they are corrupt then you can go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity and then start over with the rules then. steve "Howard Tuckey" wrote in message ... Make sure Stop processing more rules is checked for /every/ rule unless it
is grayed out. Also, move the rules that divert mail to specific folders to the top of the list of rules. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Howard Tuckey" wrote in message ...
