See: "OLEXP: Mail Folders, Address Book, and E-mail Messages Are Missing After You Upgrade to Microsoft Windows XP": http://support.microsoft.com/?id=313055 -- Vincenzo Di Russo Microsoft® MVP - Most Valuable Professional Windows - Internet Explorer since 2003 My Blog: http://blogs.dotnethell.it/vincent/ My Home: http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ RP wrote: I recently upgraded from Win98SE to XP-Home Edition. (w/ IE 6 OE 6) The upgrade went pretty flawlessly. However, when I went to Outlook Express, it looks like a new install. No Message and No Email accounts listed. I can easily reinstall the email accounts....but I can't seem to find the past messages. I searched all my drives for any .dbx files (I assume the old messages are contained somewhere in a .dbx file, right?) I couldn't find anything. While this may be a blessing in disguise by doing away with the tons of old messages....I would like to be able to review some of them from time to time, and would like them back. Is it possible the upgrade erased them all? IS it possible the upgrade changed the extension from .dbx? Is that why my search is fruitless? Is it possible they are still retrievable? |
