Start he http://www.insideoe.com/problems/errors.htm#crash

General OE Caveats:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm.

- WinXP SP2 only: Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown
your machine if Automatic Compacting is taking place.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

Default oe 6 not responding

I have tried your suggestions and I have had no luck. OE6 will receive
email, still it will not send, forward or reply with out locking up and
giving me the :not responding message. I still have to reboot to get the
receive email to work. I haven't been able to send email in days. is there
something else I can try? can I uninstall oe6 and reinstall it without it
losing all my emails and contacts. your help would be appreciated
thanks

Go to File | Identities and set up a new Idenitity and add your account
there. Then see if that works okay.

I have added the new identity and for now my original identity seem to be
working correctly. do I need to keep the added identity or can I delete it?

I would back up first and you can try deleting the new one, but if its
working okay, you might just leave things alone.

Default oe 6 not responding from pipespinner

ok here we go again. the problem has showed up again.
receive works fine. sporadic sending of emails. send, forward and reply
randomly work. reboots restarts there is no common pattern to this problem.
is there a way to save my emails and uninstall oe6 and reinstall then import
emails back to oe6? is such a thing even possible? I have tried to reinstall
oe6 but it tell me that there is a later version already installed. I was
just trying something to get oe6 working normally again.

thanks
pipespinner
