I can't download any newsgroups, except yours. I've even disabled my
firewall. It looks like it's downloading, but it just goes forever. What

It's hard to say. Not all news servers are reliable, and short or long term
connection issues can occur. The fact that you can successfully connect to
and use this server suggests that the problem is not local. Knowing what
server you're trying to use might help someone provide an answer to your
query.

How long is "forever"? Some of the groups have huge numbers and take a
long time, especially on a dial up account. Check the numbers for the
number of groups do far; as long as it's changing, the groups are still
downloading.

Also, you shoule NEVER use your real e-mail address on newsgroups. You will
likely get spams because of it. Go into your News Accounts and set the
email address to something like lid. Email addresses are
NOT usually required for newsgroups. But especially don't print it out in
the clear.
