Bruce, I am not the originator of this thread, but the same thing is
happening to me. I disabled e-mail scanning of both incoming and outgoing e-mail. Here is the message I am getting. Thanks for your help. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F Bruce Hagen wrote: This is usually caused by scanning e-mail, or an anti-spam program. Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 If this doesn't resolve it, post the error message in its entirety. "Pat" wrote in message ... After 2 days of working on OE6 I finally got it running, and now I cannot send or receive. The error msg. says my server has unexpectedly terminated. Please help? |
