I'm an ocassional user of IE6... principally for computer help from
newsgroups. I've been ignoring an MS popup window asking if I wanted to
compress files but inadvertantly answered "Yes". Subsequently, a message in
an MS Outlook BCM forum "disappeared"; probably some other old ones as well.
Can someone please tell me were I can find that archive and what I have to
do to view it again?

Outlook Express deletes messages when the news server does. To avoid
the problem in the future, copy any news posts that you want to keep to
a Local Folder in OE.

To find an old post no longer on the news server, you'll need to go to a
web archive site, such as
http://groups.google.com/

Thanks, Michael. I trust that "Local Folders" are those so marked in the
Folders view and NOT those that fall directly under the the listed user
groups I subscribe to?

P.S. Thanks, Tina. Your heart was in the right place... I think.
