When I click on an email address link in a mail message, suddenly it opens
about 36 I.E. windowes and locks-up my computer. I have done a thorough check for viruses and my computer is clean. There seems to be a problem with outlook that I can't resolve. Outlook doesn't have this problem in other accounts on my computer. Lately, I have been getting the message "outlook is not your default mail client", but it always has been. Very Strange? |

Go to Control Panel | Programs and set OE as default. Also see
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#13 and www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx and www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx and www.oehelp.com/ielnk.aspx for IE links. steve "David J." wrote in message ... Thank you Steve! I am writing from work, so I cannot immediately try these
tips you provided. I will try them tonight when I get home and post the results to the list tomorrow. "Steve Cochran" wrote: Go to Control Panel | Programs and set OE as default. Setting OE default is supposed to fix it.

I hate to say it, but nothing helped. I spent $150 on tech help from
microsoft and Symantec, which was total waste. I can't believe that symantec charged me $60 just to tell me that I didn't have a virus. I am already paying a subscription on three computers! I still don't know what the cause of the problem was, but my operating system continued to deteriorate to the point I couldn't even access my DVD or CD drives. Bought a new computer with Vista and started from scratch. I will try to revocer that computer no that I am back up and operating on my network. It was A real nightmare! I won't work with any machine that has any Symantec product on it.

I am a slow learner! You can bet that I will not renew any of my
subscriptions. I wonder how much damage the symantec software will do when I try to remove it from my machines? The questions now is what antivirus software to use? Any ideas? One day with the new Vista and I love it already (very robust), but it would have been nice if Microsoft would have put a notice in the box relative to the need for a download patch on computers running XP to talk to those running vista.
