Most ISPs will not let you use their SMTP server unless you are physically connected to them. Many have a way around this using a different port and/or user authentication. Contact your ISP. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. Don't expect an answer to email. |

What error message do you get when you try to send? From that we may be
able to determine a workaround. In some cases you can use Port 587 or 465 rather than port 25 (specify in OE at Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Advanced). Your ISP is more likely to allow this port. The SMTP mail server has to support this port. SMTP Authentication will likely be required. In OE this is specified in Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Servers, Outgoing Mail Server, My Server Requires Authentication. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "klantee" wrote in message ... The user definitely needs to contact the ISP to figure this out though. Its
not an OE configuration issue, its how to configure it and so the user needs to ask the ISP. I have a special port I use also, but its not that one for my accounts. steve "Michael Santovec" wrote in message ... What error message do you get when you try to send?
