OE6 is extremely slow in starting up.The problem started some weeks ago and
is increasing. At the end of the slow startup Microsoft Serurity Center warns "that my computer might be at risk". Soon after this warning NAV pops up and the warning disappears. So NAV might be the culprit! but I don't dare to uninstall/reinstall it as in the meantime the computer would be unprotected. JoanLee |

Backup your important messages. Then turn off email scanning by Norton.
See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Then remove your mail account, close and reopen OE and then add it back again. Then do a File | Folder | Compact all. See if that improves things. If not, then go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity and then if that works better, you can use File | Import to get the messages from the older Identity. steve "JoanLee" wrote in message ... Turn off any email scanning in your anti-virus.
Move all messages out of the Inbox to user created folders and compact the Inbox. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com "JoanLee" wrote in message ...
