Default Detach an attachment?

Is there any way in Outlook Express to detach an attachment from an E-mail
message? There are many cases where I'd like to keep the E-mail message,
but have no need to keep the attachment (or wish to keep the attachment
elsewhere).

Two very common situations come to mind. In the first, I receive a lot of
E-mail containing attachments *and* messages in the body of the E-mail.
Many times, the attachments are documents or videos that I wish to save in
other folders on my hard drive. But I still want to retain the original
E-mail message from the sender, so that I don't lose the contents. Yet
retaining that message also retains the attachment *within* Outlook
Express -- even though I've saved it elsewhere.

In a second scenario, I am currently in a job search, and am sending out
resumes by the hundreds. In each case, I wish to keep the Sent E-mail,
because it typically contains a cover letter that has contextual information
in it. However, it is silly to save hundreds of E-mail messages with the
same attachment (my resume)! I'd like to retain the E-mail message, but
without the attachment.

So is there any way, in either of the above cases, to remove an attachment
from an E-mail message, but retain the message body itself (other than
saving the message body to a file outside of Outlook Express)???

Save the message to the Desktop. File | Save as | Desktop | Save. Open it
with Notepad. Highlight and delete the attachment code and drag the message
back to a folder in OE.

If you get a lot, this tool does this and more. You might find it
worthwhile.
