Thanks for help 3/27 re OE Back Up. I reviewed all of the links you provided
but in Windows Explorer, I still can't get beyond the GUID which, i learned, is the long number after Identities in the Path. I found the path Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder. I still cannot get to Microsoft and then Outlook Express in Win Explorer. Thanks - Roger |

The folders and files are hidden. Go to Tools | Options | View in
WinExplorer and enable showing hidden files and folders. Also uncheck the hide extensions for known file types option to help you distinguish between them. steve "rogeepete" wrote in message ... Always reply to your original thread (Back up OE), please.
OE Tools Options Maintenance Store folder will reveal the location of your current Identity's store (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain). Write it down. In WinXP, Win2K and Win2K03, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start Control Panel Folder Options View. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org rogeepete wrote: Thanks for help 3/27 re OE Back Up. You are going from Documents and Settings | User Name to Application Data.

Put the backup Inbox on the Desktop, and rename it to Temp.dbx.
Open OE and create a folder with the *exact* same name as the one on the Desktop, (Temp). Open the new folder and then close OE. Go to Windows Explorer and locate the Message Store folder for your OE identity, but don't open it. Click on the Desktop and drag the file from the Desktop in the right hand pane to the OE store folder in the left pane. Prompt - "Do you want to overwrite......."?
