Posted here a week ago with this problem and received great responses.
Problem still exists and here it is. Running Win XP Home with IE6 and OE6. ISP is comcast. Antivirus is Mcafee. Create mail, click send, email moves from outbox to sent folder but is never received at destination. Send an email to myself but never receive it. Posting here last week told me to try disabling Mcafee...did no good. Currently have outgoing email scanning disabled. Comcast has rebuilt my email account but problem still exists. In an attempt to isolate problem further, I set up my email account on a different PC running Win 2000 and OE6 with norton antivirus and everything worked fine, so I have at least identified the problem as being in my PC. Next step was I removed my email account from my PC and then set it up all over again. But the problem still persists. Any and all suggestions would be extremely appreciated. Thanks -- kah |

Just because you the the email scanning disabled doesn't mean you won't
still have problems. McAfee and Norton are famous for being so deeply embedded in the system that problems still continue after the scanning is turned of. Have not tried a new identity. Should that make a difference?

That still doesn't answer why it works okay on one machine but not another.
I will try unstalling the the mcafee as someone else indicated. -- kah "PA Bear" wrote: Comcast and Roadrunner acquired Adelphia (another ISP) several months ago: Comcast took some of the Adelphia customers, Roadrunner took the others; Comcast yielded some of its existing customers to Roadrunner, and Roadrunner yielded some of its existing customers to Comcast. A lot of this switching became "official" in recent weeks and posts similar to yours started coming in from Comcast and Roadrunner subscribers. I think Comcast doesn't have all its ducks in a row quite yet and there's nothing much you can do about it (other than pay your exorbitant bill every month). Until Comcast gets things straightened out, access you account at the webmail page. Then again, McAfee VirusScan might be the problem, especially if you get it "for free" from Comcast. -- ~PA Bear kah wrote: Just tried a new identity and yes the behavior persists.
