I can receive but can't send emails via Outlook Express. The Logon Box
keeps repeating. BT/Yahoo emails work OK in and out and BT have checked
the email accounts and say they are OK and that it is an Outlook Express
problem. I'm on XP Pro, OE 6, IE 7 and Norton. Sometimes I get 0x800CCC90
and 0x800CCC91 error messages but now there are no error messages and the
Logon Box repeats ad infinitum.

Thanks for that Steve but the problem is persisting despite turning off
Norton email scanning. Any other pointers?

Check with BT that you have the proper port and security settings.

Done that, Frank. BT uninstalled and then reinstalled all the accounts and
then said the problem was with OE. Accounts work OK with BT.

What is the complete error message?
Did they check the port numbers and what authentication boxes were ticked?

Hello again Frank, I didn't save the error messages and they have now
stopped appearing (but the problem persists). BT certainly checked the
authentication settings but not sure about the ports. I'll check with them
again.

Hi Frank and Steve. Problem sorted. I've been back to BT again and
they've solved it. There seemed to be a conflict between my main BT/Yahoo
email account, which I don't use, and the two email accounts listed on OE.
I didn't understand what the problem was but it's all working perfectly now -
after a week! Many thanks again to you two for pointing me in the right
direction.
