Checking for new Newsgroup messages
I have two Newsgroup server accounts which, being free, are sometimes a bit
flaky. They are set up to poll the same newsgroups. However, only one is set to "include this account when checking for new messages". This arrangement allows me to easily switch to the standby Newsgroup server - albeit by that time it is catching up with everything since it was previously used. Every now-and-then the standby Newsgroup server is polled for new messages without (as far as I am aware) being prompted. What would cause new messages to be downloaded even when the account is set not to do so please? Regards. Bill Ridgeway
