Default Restoring Address Book

My computer crashed unexpectantly, although I did manage to make a complete
backup from the old hard drive (c:/).

I am now restoring my files on my new hard drive and cannot seem to find
where all of my contacts would have of been stored? Am I able to restore
these at all, if I dont have a csv copy of them?

Thanks In Advance

Do an Advanced search and include Hidded Files and Folders. Type in:

*.wab

I have just done a search on the old drive and there is no file that ends in
the .wab file extension (I searched hidden files). Is this the only place
where my contacts would have been stored? Thanks

Try leaving off the *. i.e.:

..wab

Other than that, you may be out of luck unless someone else has an idea.

Was Outlook from Office installed? If so, Outlook Express (OE) might
have been set to share the Outlook contacts. In that case, OE would not
have been using a WAB file. Rather, the Outlook PST file (or possibly
PAB) would be where the contacts are. In that case, you need to install
Outlook in order to access them.
