Hi

I briefly tried Mozilla Thunderbird before deciding to return to using
OE6 in XP. Now I have a peculiar problem. When I receive an email
message as an attachment inside another email message and I click on it
to open it, after the usual warning asking me if I wish to open it, it
opens in Thunderbird.

I have now uninstalled Thunderbird and deleted all its remaining
folders. I've gone into Folder Options\File types and changed eml to
open in OE, yet the problem now is that when I click on the attached
email, it does opens OE but not the attached email itself.

I looked in the registry for remaining items about Thunderbird and found
that the key
"Hkey_Classes_Root\.eml" has a key with name "ab(Default)" with a value
Data of "ThunderbirdEML".

I am guessing that is the problem but am not sure what to change its
value to.

Any help or advice?

Thank you Ron.

That alone did not do it but it pointed me in the right direction. I
also had to go again to Folder Options\File types and change from the
"Outlook Express" I had previously selected to the now newly available
option of returning to the default "Microsoft Internet Mail Message" and
now things work correctly.
