hope somebody can help me please. Have Outlook Express 6 on a XP machine and
need to use SMTP authentication for sending out emails. Works fine when
entered and when restarting Outlook Express, but on computer restart, the
setting default back to using POP3 settings. In general the machine is
resetting my STMP setting on restart, can anybody help please.

Since on a restart of OE, the settings are sticking, it's not likely an
OE issue.

Most likely some other program is changing the settings on reboot. A
potential program would be an anti-virus program set to scan outgoing
mail, or some security software that restricts modification of settings.
