Default Forwarded part of message missing

I have several messages that I've forwarded with comments to an OE user.
They don't end up seeing the original message that I forwarded them - just my
comments.

What do we need to do to resolve this?

I am not an OE user.

Thank you Bruce, but the problem is on the "other side". I do not use OE,
the person receiving the emails does.

The person receiving the message does not see the forwarded part of the
message even though it was a part of the message I sent to them. Others on
the distrubution list see the forwarded part, but they are not OE users.

Other thoughts?

try in the 'other persons' OE,
Tools
Options
Security
uncheck 'do not allow attachments to be opened or saved that could be a
virus'

might be dumping them before they can be read

Hi Artie,

It would help to know more about the apps involved in the process and
the format used.

How was the original message created?
What format is the message in?
What are you using to read and forward the message?
What is your sending format?
Is a copy of the full forwarded message in a Sent Items folder?

Tell them to try using Message Source (e.g. Alt-Enter,Ctrl-Tab,Alt-M
or Ctrl-F3 if it is already open.) Some mailers do forwards as attachments
which means that if there is a chain of such messages each would have
to be opened separately. As long as the attachments are included in clear
text the whole chain might be readable via Message Source by an OE user.

FYI

If you did a Forward As Attachment (or equivalent), then just your
comments will appear in the message body, and the original message will
appear as an EML attachment which the OE user must manually open.

If you happen to be using Outlook and RTF format, the OE user won't see
the attachment. You need to use Plain Text format when sending any
attachments to OE.

For the OE user to see the forwarded message in the body, you must use a
Forward Quoted (or equivalent).
