Default How do I removed Outlook from my computer?

I use OE, and am having repeated problems with Outlook taking over. Each time, I have to check that OE is my Default Email Handler. One symptom is in sending URLs from IE (I have XP Pro SR2+), and go up to Tools, and click on Send Link, up pops Outlook.

Then I go and check my OE and sure enough, the check is removed making it my default email client. This usually happens after MS automatic updates are downloaded (I don't download updates for programs I never have used and some I don't understand or recognize even reading the MS info).

This most recent even was that I could not create a new simple signature. I kept getting a message that OE "must shut down..." and down it went, and I didn't bother sending the info to MS (a lot of good that does!).

Help me, please. this is driving me nuttier...and please remember I am a blind user, using ZoomText, and/or Dragon, or Jaws depending on the documents.

Thank you so much.

Okkkkk now. I did it, but when I am in IE6 ++ SP2, and try to send a URL in Tools/Send Link, I get only "News" now; no Send Link, Send Page, et al. Where did the rest go to?
