Default Errors in Outlook Express

I am having troubles with dropped BB connections. Alongside this I am
seeing a lot of 'not responding messages in IE/OE.
I notice there are a lot of sites offering to fix 'errors in Outlook
Express'.
Anyone know if there could be a connection. ( ISP cannot apparently
help.)

You would need to be more specific as to the types of error and the specific
error messages. It may be a server side issue also.

Do a thorough check for malware following all of the steps at one of these
sites:
Help with malware

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

Sorry Mr. Saunders,
I should have said that Ad-aware, Windows Defender, and Spybot S & D
together with AVG anti-virus are all installed and updated. None is
showing problems. I am currently relying on Windows Firewall after
problems with ZoneAlarm.
I do not use Messenger. With a flaky BB connection I seem to
have trouble getting to links or effectively maintaining live windows in
IE.
Should the protection afforded by the 4 items above be adequate?

Can you comment on the reason for many sites offering to 'fix errors in
OE' please?

The OP may be referring to what you see on the right side of this MSN

Tried to run Hijack This Got "your security settings do not allow....."
Changed the settings in OE from 'restricted sites' to ' Internet sites'
applied but got the same message again.

There is nothing in OE that would prevent you from running HijackThis. You
have more serious problems than OE.

As far as those sites Bruce mentioned, I wouldn't trust any of them and if
you ran one of their programs that might be the source of your problems.
