How do I setup Outlook Express 6 so that I can view received and sent
messages either via my desktop or laptop as if they are one. At the moment if
I receive an email and view it on my desktop it still shows as unread on my
laptop and vice versa. Also, anything sent from either desktop or laptop is
not visible on the other. This was not a problem until I changed from
talktalk webmail.
Any ideas. My operating system is Windows XP SP2.

To do that, you need to use IMAP access rather than POP3. Does your
current mail service offer that?

With POP3 it's possible for two PCs to download the same messages but
not possible for them to tell whether or not the other has read the
messages or for them to see what the other has sent.

If your mail service doesn't offer IMAP, are both the desktop and laptop
always connected to the same LAN? If so, an option is to run your own
local mail server that accesses the mail service via POP3 and then
provides IMAP support to your local PCs. For examples of such a
programs, see:
Mercury Mail Transport System

Hamster "Classic"

However, this won't work if you take your lap top on the road to access
e-mail unless you set up the home LAN to be accessible via the Internet
so that the Laptop can connected remotely to the LAN in order to access
mail.
