Which server type? then you can choose to DL the whold message or not? FYI For POP3 you can't really get headers only in OE. There is a way which headers only for POP3 could be implemented provided the server supported the TOP command but that is not always available. However, it is thought that OE does make use of that command in order to support a rule involving size, so if your server is POP3 you might want to experiment with rules and trace your results. OK then, do you know of any way of programatucally copying the mesage of an Outlook Express message to the clipboard OR programatically saving the message of an Outlook Express email as a text file? Thanks! Steve "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... Sorry. Bruce, I noted you are a MS-MVP Outlook Express. Can you help me with this question ... Is there any way to programatically grab an Outlook Express 6.0 message and get it into Excel2003? Thanks for any help you can give me! Steve "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... DL = Delete? onbox = Inbox? Are you referring to this from Help? It is only for newsgroups. If you delete message headers in an OE folder, you delete the message as well, and if you didn't, you wouldn't be able to find it anyhow. To delete a newsgroup message Newsgroup messages are stored on a news server. In order for them to be available for other people to read, they cannot be deleted from the server. However, you can delete newsgroup messages or headers that have been downloaded to your computer. 1.. On the Tools menu, click Options. 2.. On the Maintenance tab, click Clean Up Now. 3.. Click Browse, and select either a news server or a specific newsgroup, and then click OK. 4.. To delete message bodies only for the selected item, click Remove Messages. -or- To delete headers and messages for the selected item, click Delete. News items deleted in this manner are permanently removed from your computer. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "musiclover" wrote in message ...
