DL = Delete? onbox = Inbox?
Are you referring to this from Help? It is only for newsgroups. If you delete message headers in an OE folder, you delete the message as well, and if you didn't, you wouldn't be able to find it anyhow. To delete a newsgroup message Newsgroup messages are stored on a news server. In order for them to be available for other people to read, they cannot be deleted from the server. However, you can delete newsgroup messages or headers that have been downloaded to your computer. 1.. On the Tools menu, click Options. 2.. On the Maintenance tab, click Clean Up Now. 3.. Click Browse, and select either a news server or a specific newsgroup, and then click OK. 4.. To delete message bodies only for the selected item, click Remove Messages. -or- To delete headers and messages for the selected item, click Delete. News items deleted in this manner are permanently removed from your computer. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "musiclover" wrote in message ... You can't do what you want. You have to download the entire message from the
server with a POP3 account. What you could do is to go to your ISPs Website and check your mail there. Delete what you don't want and then open OE and download whatever you left on the server. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "musiclover" wrote in message ... correct, thanks. i want to download only headers from email server. then i can delte them if desired or pick up the whole message if desired. ery useful when using dialup at the lake. i understood from OE help it would work. but iot is only for news? never use that. thanks.
