The only time that OE should do that is if you do a Reply ALL and have
the option enabled that Bruce mentioned. You don't have to actually send the message. The addresses are added when you click the Reply button. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Lydia" wrote in message ... Bruce: The issue is that when I RECEIVE an email from someone and it is cc'd to 30 people, those 30 people show up in my Address Book. This is on the receiving end, and I'd like to know how to disable this. I don't know most of the people cc'd and don't need them in my address book. I understand the other issue, where you have the option, as mentioned below, of automatically adding people cc'd to the address book. That I get. Thanks again! "Bruce Hagen" wrote: If you have Automatically put people I reply to in my Address Book checked, either uncheck it, or do not click Reply All. Reply All will put all addresses in the AB, but if you just click Reply, only the sender will be added. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Lydia" wrote in message ... Bruce: THANK YOU so very much for responding! I'm at my wits end. Yes, I do know how to add folks to the Address Book, and delete them individually. The problem is that if I can a joke or funny thing from someone and s/he sends it to 30 other people, those 30 unknown people end up in my address book and I want them to not be automatically added -- I want them to go away, and don't know how to change the settings to fix this. Thanks for your reply. Do you think this is do-able? Marilyn "Bruce Hagen" wrote: You can't. Bruce: I can't seem to post to this site, but can reply, apparently. Do you know how to change the settings in the address book that will help with this problem? I can't find the answer in the Help part of OE or on the Windows site. Frustrating. PROBLEM: When someone sends me an email and cc's others, THOSE addresses are stored in my Address Book. I have NO idea who these people are and it's resulted in 1300 "unknown" (to me) people in my address book. VERY FRUSTRATING! I don't know how to change the settings to address this problem. Thank you for your assistance! Marilyn Arnold . "Bruce Hagen" wrote: You can't.
