Is there anyone out there who can instruct me how to STOP the embedding of
images into the body of a note, when I attach jpg files to my note? I've exhausted my attempts to stop the images showing up within the note. I've tried Plain vs. HTML, I've turned OFF Send Pictures with email, etc. The images don't show up until AFTER I send the email. All I want to do is send a few jpg files, and not have the body of the email cluttered with extraneous "stuff". The recipients can check out the attached files without having to look at the extra stuff within the body of the email. Thanks! -- gar h |

OE shows pictures below the body of the email.
All email programs do not do this. Add some space to the bottom of the email. Or Zip the pictures so they don't have a jpg extension. -- Ronald Sommer "Gar H." wrote in message ... : Is there anyone out there who can instruct me how to STOP the embedding of : images into the body of a note, when I attach jpg files to my note? : : I've exhausted my attempts to stop the images showing up within the note. : I've tried Plain vs. HTML, I've turned OFF Send Pictures with email, etc. : : The images don't show up until AFTER I send the email. : : All I want to do is send a few jpg files, and not have the body of the : cluttered with extraneous "stuff". The images are not embedded in the message but displayed in a separate
section below the message as a convenience to the user. If a user of OE6 in WinXP SP2 enables the following option, the images will not be displayed: OE Tools Options Read Read all messages in plain text. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org Gar H. wrote: Is there anyone out there who can instruct me how to STOP the embedding of images into the body of a note, when I attach jpg files to my note? By default, OE displays any image attachments (JPG, GIF, BMP) at the
bottom of the message text. This is a display only (not a duplicate attachment) and only affects what you see on your PC, not what the recipient sees. Whether the recipients also automatically see the image is dependent on their mail program and its settings. To change whether or not you automatically see the images on your PC, see the following article: Outlook Express Slide Show OE5, OE6 http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/slideshow.htm In the case of OE6, if the "Automatically Inline Images" key is missing, it can be added with a value of 0 to disable display of images at the bottom of the message text. Not having the key or setting it to 1 enables display. Note: In Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2003 SP1, when Tools, Options, Read, Read All Message In Plain Text is selected, that also stops the display of images.
