When I go on line and check mail, all messages are in the correct mailbox.
When I open OE6 it downloads all mailboxes into one mailbox. It does show
which mailbox it should have gone to. What switch have I messed up?

If the server has POP3 access, all accounts download into the single
Inbox. If it had IMAP access or HTTP (Hotmail/MSN) mail for each
account downloads into their own folders to mirror the server.

You have a couple of options:

1) You can put each POP3 account in its own identity. That will keep
them entirely separate. But you will have to switch identities to use
each account.

2) You can create a local folder for each account, then use Message
Rules (under Tools) to move messages to those folders based on the
account

Apply this rule after the message arrives
Where the message is from the specified account
Move it to the specified folder
and Stop processing more rules
