I have just bought a new laptop which is Vista based, I have copied
everything over without a problem, all files, folders, favourites, all e-mail accounts but I can't get to move all my e-mails. I have done as many times before copied them on to a pen drive from my other PC then copied them in to a file on the new laptop then gone to import messages, browsed for the folder which its found but it does not seem to recognise the e-mails which are in "dbx" Is this a Vista v WinXP issue or am I doing something wrong ?? Its as if Vista does not recognise the dbx files ? Any help welcome. Dave. |

Sorted it now, I think it might have been something to do with the files
going on to the new laptop in "read only" when I checked the properties. I changed this and it seemed to work, also I uploaded them direct from the pen drive so not sure if this is why it worked ?? Thanks anyway. Dave. "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... Clearly stated in the link I sent you:
Go to Edit | Select all in Windows Explorer and select all the dbx files. Then right click on the selection and choose Properties and ensure that the read only attribute of the files is unchecked. You have to do that when moving from OE to OE as well. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Yosh" wrote in message ...
