1. Save the Excel spreadsheet as a CSV file.
2. Export and save your current Address Book as a CSV file (File Export Other address book). 3. Examine the formatting of #2. 4. Tweak the #1 file to agree with #3 file format. 5. Import the #1 file into Address Book via File Import Other address book. NB: Neither Folders nor Groups will export or import. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org Sidney wrote: Can anyone tell me how to transfer names, addresses etc. now on an Excel spread sheet to Outlook Express. Hello Sidney,
I have never used Outlook. Assuming you are trying to get names, addresses etc. from Excel into Windows Address Book. Address Book can be open from Outlook Express or selecting Start on Desktop, on its menu select Programs, on it's expanding menu select Accessories, on it's expanding menu choose Address Book. Either way, in Address Book dialog window choose File, on it's menu select Import, on it's expanding menu choose Other Address Book. This should display Address Book Import Tool dialog window, notice various options available. Excel is not on the list, however Text File (comma separated values) is. My suggestion is to save Excel file as a .csv file then import it.
