This is an irritating feature in OE6 that I can't figure out how to change.
I would like all "returns" to always be one-line space - always - not just when I write an email or posting. Sometimes hitting 'enter' gives one line space and sometimes it gives 2. I don't want to have to keep hitting control-enter when I want only 1 line space. Does anyone know a way to cause OE6 to work this way all the time? Thanks! Bob |

Ctrl-Enter may cause you to send the message prematurely; so if you do get confused about which modifier you need to use before pressing either it would be a good idea to set Work Offline first (Alt-F,W) so it only gets as far as the Outbox... ; ) FYI it's a difference of working in Plain Text mode and Rich Text mode. Notice that you can even be in Rich Text mode when you are editing in Plain Text if you paste Rich Text into your Plain Text composition. E.g. in order to split a Rich Text paragraph into Plain Text lines it may be necessary to press Shift-Enter to make the lines single-space (instead of doublespace as if you were creating a new Rich Text paragraph.) Does anyone know a way to cause OE6 to work this way all the time? For that particular example you could avoid having to press Shift-Enter by first pasting the Rich Text excerpt into a Notepad window and then reselecting and recopying it from there. Then when you paste it into the OE Plain Text composition window it will be plain text and editable as such (hence allowing Enter to create new lines not just new paragraphs.) Thanks! Thanks, Robert. Looks like plain text is the way to go for me.

An easy but annoying way to get rid of it is to switch to Rich Text mode and then back to Plain Text mode. All the extra line feeds will be gone and return will only add one line. HTH Pop` |
