The just started recently on one of my computers.
When you create mail and want to insert an attachment, the "Look In" window opens normally. When you click on the folder to look in for a specific file, OE attaches the whole folder shortcut instead of opening the folder to choose the individual file you wish to attach. Worked fine initially but may have been changed by an automatic update. Did a system restore which corrected in once but last restore did not correct. IT'S BACK!! Any suggestions appreciated!! And yes, I'm a newbie and yes it was me that posted this same problem in the OUTLOOK group! Apologies to the OUTLOOK Gang. My Bad! -- Tate |

I will also try this temporarily. Still would like to figure out why it
worked that way before and the suddenly changed. Any possibility one of the automatic updates would change something to cause this? Ever get set in your ways of doing things and then are so anal about it, that you won't give up until you figure it out? Not always a good trait to have. Must have gotten it from my Dad! I will give that a try but would still like to figure out what happened.
It used to work fine until I believe something in an automatic update downloaded. Thanks for the suggestion. -- Tate "sdlomi2" wrote: "Tate" wrote in message ... That's been a "feature" of OE for quite some time. I think at least
since SP2. You must have been very out-of-date. The attach dialog will not follow shortcuts to folders. The way around that is not to use the dialog. Instead open a Windows File Explorer and navigate to the desired folder. Then drag-and-drop the files into the message composition window. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Tate" wrote in message ... Thanks for the reply! My other two computers are currently up to date and they
still work the old way. Drag and drop works well but the person using the computer in question, is set in her ways and wants to continue to do it the old way! Still searching for solution. -- Tate "Michael Santovec" wrote: That's been a "feature" of OE for quite some time. I think at least since SP2. You must have been very out-of-date.
