Default Outlook Express 6 Issue

p wrote:

Hello:

I am running Windows XP Professional SP2. I downloaded and installed a
trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 but not before doing a complete
system backup and creating a restore point. After installing it I opened
Microsoft Outlook Express, which I use for my e-mail and everything was
missing. Under local folders I must have had 15 or 20 sub-folders that I
had created over the past 2 years and that is how I sorted my e-mails. I
had a folder for family, one for jobs, one for finances etc..but there
all gone. Now, I know that Outlook Express uses a file extension of
.dbx. When I do a search for those files I come up with a ton of them.
I even see all my folders with the extension of .dbx. The problem is how
do I get them back into O.E.? I have used the import option but it
doesn't import anything. I point it to the right directory where the dbx
files are located and still none of my info comes back. I know the info
is there because the .dbx files are 30,774kb, 16,834kb in size etc. Any
ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your time.

Paul
